Mobile Hospitals and Clinics
Mobile hospitals and clinics are portable and quickly put into service healthcare units designed to provide fast and effective healthcare services, especially in the event of a mass disaster, war, major accident or mass casualty. These structures play a critical role in situations where the local healthcare infrastructure is inadequate by being delivered directly to the area where the incident occurs.
Mobile hospitals, which have many features such as fully equipped operating rooms, intensive care units, emergency areas and patient monitoring facilities, provide environments where healthcare personnel can work in an organized manner. Their installation can usually be completed within 24 to 48 hours and they ensure continuity of medical service even in the most difficult conditions.
Mobile clinics are smaller in size and provide basic health services, first aid, examination, vaccinations and medication. Both structures undertake a life-saving mission by transporting health services to where they are needed.
